It was Ok I mean I know it was ok but I think she could have done better. It needed some more action in the beginning of the book. Towards the end it was amazing, which could even make me think it was a great book. Overall proably, 7-10.

I think the book was great! In order to think the same way, you would have to be into World War 2 history a lot. It is a great mix of history and fiction brought into one. The author also makes it feel like it is or has happened in life. I would highly recommend this book to six grade and up who, again, enjoy historical fiction.

Coastwatcher

By: Elise Weston

I really enjoyed the Coastwatcher because of these three reasons. This book is about a boy who thinks he saw Germans around his house. This book takes place on the beach in South Carolina during W.W.ΙΙ and a polio epidemic.

First it shows how tough life was in South Carolina because of W.W.ΙΙ and the polio epidemic. Also, because all the mother’s and father’s were out in the war and a lot of people were getting polio in that area.

Next, I thought it had good descriptive details when something really serious happened like when Hugh thought he saw Germans in the ocean and around his house.

The part I liked the best was when Hugh and Tom saw the Germans in the spook house and had to sprint back to their house.

Coatwatcher is filled with suspense and action. Elise Weston ties history in with a daring boy and his friends who are living on the ocean to escape the polio epidemic.

Coastwatcher is scary. Though i like it so much, i have read it 1,000,000 times. Hugh is a very daring character, espeicially when he went into the spook house with Tom, and discovered dynamite. I can't believe they did that with the soldier on the couch. I like it alot because it is filled with action and history.
