The book Rules is a well written book that shows a girl named Catherine is very creative, friendly, and smart. David is Catherine's brother, it is very hard to teach David Catherines rules because has autisum. Some of David rules are, chew with your mouth closed, no toys in the fish tank. This book is one of the 2008 children nomanees and it is a very funny book with a boy who has autium.

Rules was an enjoyable book. It tells you about reality and how kids can be diagnosed with autism. In the book Catherine sets rules for her brother David to remeber in his life. David does not always remeber these Rules but Catherine helps him. Catherine is patient with David but sometimes she gets frustrated with him because he does not understand. We recomend this book for preteens.

Rules was a joy to read. Catherine tries to teach her brother rules but it is hard because David has autisum. I recommend this book to anyone.I made a connection because my mom's friend's son has autisum but he's very smart.

I thought RULES was an excellent book. It tells about different disabilities and abilities. It also tells how families cope, when their loved ones have disabilities.
Catherine tells the story of her autistic brother, David, and her paraplegic friend, Jason. Find out more in RULES.

Have you ever thought that your life couldn’t get any better but just get worse? Well obviously you don’t have a little brother with autism. In the story Rules, twelve year old Catherine faces everyday challenges twice as hard as anyone else when he autistic brother David, is around. She wants to stick up for him when people make fun, but she also wants to live a normal life without the embarrassing things David does. When a new girl Kristi, moves in next door Catherine raises her hopes thinking that Kristi will be a new best friend. But when Kristi’s first words to Catherine are, “Is he ok?”, when David has a fit on the porch Catherine worries.
I like the book Rules because the way the author, Cynthia Lord, wrote it. One of David’s rules is used as the title of each chapter. It also teaches a lesson in a way. Some how it teaches you “don’t judge a book by its cover” but in a different way. Like Catherine didn’t want to ignore Jason just because he was in a wheel chair and couldn’t talk. So the author taught the lesson, “Don’t judge a person by their disability.”
The only thing I don’t like about this book is that it has an end. 

I think that Rules is mostly heartwarming because of Catherine and David’s relationship. An example is “What did you wish for?” “ Grape soda.” “Taking one of his fluttering hands, I wrap his fingers tightly around a dollar. “Wish granted, Toad.”. Rules is also easy to follow because almost any 6th grade girl can relate to Catherine: getting in fights with friends, being teased, and hiding from your friends if you don’t want to talk.

Rules was a good book. I liked it because close to the end Catherine realized the true meaning of friendship. Plus she realized that Cristy was not a true friend because she did not like the fact that Jason was her friend.

I liked this book because it had rules for chapter names! The rules are for David. For example, the rule,"Late doesn't mean not coming."is one of the chapter's names.I reccemend this book to 4th grade and above.

I liked the book, Rules, a lot because it was funny, sad, and happy. For example it was funny when Jason said, "stupid speach lady." It was sad when Kristy said, "You're no fun." It was happy when Catherine went to the dance with Jason. All these different events made it a very enjoyable book.

"No toys in the fish tank". If you like books with funny rules,Rules is the perfect book for you.In Rules you will be amazed how Catherine feels with her little brother David who has autisim. In the begining Catherine feels annoyed and embarresesed by David and later she meets a boy who can't walk without a wheel chair and can't speak, but at the end she learns a important lesson from him " you can't be embarresed by someone who is different.

5:00 o'clock and Dad will be home to go to the video store. RULES by CYNTHIA LORD is an excellent book. The reason why David thinks that is because he has autism. This book is about 12 year old Katherine and David. this is a great book.

"Fix"David said holding the VCR in his hands with the tape spilling out. This is how everyday is in Catherine's house. If you like family trouble then you will like this book.Even though I didn't like this book you may. This book wasn't exciting to me because it's full of friend and family trouble.Catherine has to much hasil in her life for me to handle as a reader. The only part I enjoyed wasthe hilarious rules that Catherine tells David."no toys in the fish tank"and "Don't hug the mail man" are some of the hilarious rules.Just because I didn't enjoy this book doesn't mean you won't.If I were you I would try it.
